Buying USDT: from payment method to your wallet
To buy USDT, choose a service available where you live, confirm the payment method, select a supported network and compare the final amount reaching your wallet. This guide explains those checks before you pay; availability and prices must be confirmed for your own transaction.
1. Choose a service and payment method
Check whether the provider accepts your country of residence, payment currency and payment method. A bank card, bank transfer and cash exchange can have different limits, verification requirements and costs. For cash, confirm the city and appointment with the operator before travelling.
2. Check availability in your country, including the USA
For a purchase in the USA, check eligibility for your state as well as your country in the provider’s current terms. A search result or a USD price does not confirm that a service accepts US customers. For 1K Exchange, ask the operator to confirm your location and payment method before sending funds.
3. Choose the same network on both sides
USDT is issued on multiple blockchains. TRC20 on Tron and ERC20 on Ethereum are different transfer networks. Open the USDT deposit screen in your receiving wallet or exchange and match its network to the seller’s withdrawal network. Check the token and full address; do not select a network only because its fee is lower.
4. Compare the final amount, not only the rate
Ask how much you pay in total and how much USDT reaches your wallet after service, payment-provider and withdrawal charges. For example, 5,000 UAH paid for 100 USDT received means an effective cost of 50 UAH per USDT; this is an arithmetic example, not a quote. Confirm when the rate locks and whether it can change while payment is pending.
5. Verify your details, then pay using the request instructions
Prepare the details required by the provider and review its identity, card and source-of-funds requirements. Never share a wallet seed phrase or private key with an operator.
6. Check receipt in your own wallet
For an on-chain transfer, obtain the transaction hash and check the selected blockchain explorer. The receiving service may require confirmations before crediting your balance. Check the credited token, network and amount in your own wallet or account; a sender’s screenshot alone is not confirmation of receipt.
7. Can you buy directly from Tether?
Buying from the issuer differs from buying through an exchange. On 30 October 2026, Tether’s published minimum acquisition amount is USD 100,000, with a 0.1% acquisition fee and a USD 150 verification fee in Tether tokens. Account approval and eligibility are separate requirements. These are Tether’s terms, not 1K Exchange’s retail minimum or fees.
