Current Revolut status for residents of Ukraine

As of 2 September 2026, Revolut has temporarily paused new accounts for people residing in Ukraine. Its official help centre also says that services for residents of Ukraine are being discontinued: each personal 60-day period starts with the first email notice.

1. New accounts: waitlist only

If you reside in Ukraine, you cannot currently open a new Revolut account and can only join the waitlist in the app. Ukrainian citizens legally living abroad may be eligible based on their supported country of residence and individual document checks.

2. Existing account closure: an individual deadline

An account is closed 60 days after the first personal email from Revolut. It can be used during the notice period, but functionality is restricted afterwards. Incoming payments are returned to the sender, while remaining fiat can be withdrawn by external bank transfer.

3. What to do before the 60-day period ends

Before the date stated in your notice, withdraw your remaining funds and download statements via Home → More → Statements. Review pending activity. Crypto and other non-fiat assets must be sold in advance; refunds and chargebacks received after closure may be rejected and returned.

4. Residency, reopening an account and the NBU position

An account cannot currently be reopened as a resident of Ukraine. After moving to a supported country, registration may be possible with proof of the new residence. On 27 February 2025, the National Bank of Ukraine said that Revolut Bank UAB had not obtained a Ukrainian licence or permit; at the time of this update, we found no later NBU announcement that such a licence had been granted.
